Sponsored ESL Students

      1. Gain academic admission in decreed major to approved university
      2. Email your advisor to tell them you have gained academic admission and send the following required documents:

        • Request Email (include university name, term, major)
        • Admission Letter
        • IELTS/TOEFL exam submitted to the university to gain admission OR If you gained admision by completing the highest level of ESL, ask your school to email your advisor directly.
          • Only in - person IELTS Academic and TOEFL iBT are approved. The testing center must be in Kuwait or, if taken while you have been studying ESL, in the US.
          • TOEFL iBT Paper Edition is NOT approved.
      3. Allow 5-7 business days for processing and plan accordingly to avoid delays.

      • As you begin to apply to universities, your Scholarship Advisor can only send a prospective financial support letter (PFSL) and high school transcripts. You must send all other documents to the university.
      • A prospective financial support letter can only be sent when you apply in your decreed major to an approved univesity.

        • A prospective financial support letter being sent is NOT approval for you to attend that school and it is not a guarantee that you can study there. They are NOT a commitment that we will pay.
      • To submit a PFSL request, email your advisor with the following information:

        • University Name
        • Term you applied for
        • Major you applied for

      • If you change your bank account, email your Scholarship advisor within the first week of the month to avoid having us make deposits in your old account that will cause delays in receiving your salary.

      • Book/equipment allowance is released twice a year to eligible students. Email your advisor to check if you are eligible.
      • Submit your current term class schedule (Verification of Enrollment/VOE) and all grades from the most recently completed ESL terms so your advisor can review your eligibility.

        • Example: Spring VOE + Fall A and Fall B grades
      • You must pass at least half of your ESL courses during an entire term (example: Fall A and B) to be eligible for the following term's book allowance.

      • Email your Scholarship Advisor as soon as there are any changes with your personal information (such as changes to your email address, mailing address, phone number, etc.).

      • It is your responsibility to waive out of the university health insurance plan each term/year since your scholarship provieds you with health insurance. Our office will not be able to pay for any university health insurance fees that are not waived.

      • Students are permitted a maximum of 3 IELTS/TOEFL reimbursements taken after the scholarship approval date.
      • To request a reimbursement, email your Scholarship Advisor the following documents:

        • Official IELTS/TOEFL exam
        • Receipt (must include first and last name, amount paid, test date, and test center)

      • Salaries are released by the 20th of each month for the following month. The salary released to you each month is for the next month's expenses.

        • For example, the December salary is released around November 20th.
      • Check your bank account before contacting us about your salary. Your monthly salary may be on hold (meaning you do not get paid) if you do not submit the required documents to your advisor every term.
      • Email your Scholarship Advisor regarding any salary-hold questions.

      • Suspended students are not eligible for salary or allowances.
      • Students MAY qualify for salaries without studying during their ESL time under the following conditions:

        • Approved academic admission in your decreed scholarship major for the immediately following term
        • Minimum 3 months of successfully completed ESL study
        • Passed at least half of the classes throughout your ESL time

      • To request a ticket allowance, ask your advisor for the link to the Ticket Request Google Form. After you submit this, your advisor will review your eligibility and follow up with you.
      • In order to be eligible for your ESL to Academic ticket you must meet the following requirements:

        • Successfully complete 3 months of ESL study
        • Gained unconditional academic admission to an approved school in your decreed major.
